Bing Also Showing Ads on Their Local Finder Page

bing ads local finderBing is also showing Bing Ads on their Local Finder page, the page that Bing displays when a searcher clicks through from one of their local pack listings in the regular search results.

Here is how it displays:

bing ads local map

These look like typical search ads, with the blue title, green URL and black description text.  They also gave the “ads” tag on each ad.

These ads are more clearly ads than how Google displays their own ads on the same type of page.  Here, they look like regular search ads, while Google’s version makes the ads appear very similar to the organic map listings, as Google requires location extensions for all ads appearing on Maps.

Google began showing ads on their own Local Finder pages a week ago, which was part of a core change to AdWords and how ads on Maps are handled.

It isn’t clear how long Bing has been running ads on this page, especially since ads aren’t triggered on all searchers.  But it seems to be for all users.
